Postcard #42. Italian Flag

Claudio from the Gold Coast requested the Italian flag, which is often referred to as il Tricolore (tricoloured flag) and features three equal panels of fern green, bright white and flame scarlet red.

The difficulty with photographing flags in Rome is it’s not exactly a windy city, so they generally hang limply from their flagpoles. I was saved by a tourist shop which sold rigid little plastic flags and I was able to use on for embroidery purposes. I designed the word Italia in a suitable regal script and then embroidered it on to the little plastic flag.
